Agricultural Weather Stations are crucial equipment serving agricultural production, consisting of two core components: hardware and software. Together, these two components enable the accurate monitoring, analysis, and application of agricultural meteorological data.

In terms of hardware configuration, it mainly includes core devices and various sensors. The core devices comprise data loggers, communication modules, and power supply systems. Data loggers are responsible for receiving and storing various types of data obtained by sensors; communication modules support remote data transmission; and power supply systems mostly adopt a combination of solar energy and storage batteries to ensure the equipment operates around the clock. Sensors are the key part of the hardware, and their quantity depends on monitoring requirements. A conventional configuration includes 8 to 12 types of sensors, specifically air temperature sensors, air humidity sensors, precipitation sensors, wind speed sensors, wind direction sensors, soil temperature sensors, and soil humidity sensors. Some stations are also equipped with additional sensors such as light intensity sensors, carbon dioxide concentration sensors, and leaf wetness sensors. Each type of sensor corresponds to the monitoring of one or more meteorological and environmental elements, ensuring the comprehensiveness of data collection.

On the software side, the software system of Agricultural Weather Stations has several core functions. First is the data management function: it can automatically store, classify, and query various collected meteorological data, and support exporting data into commonly used formats. Second is the data analysis function: it can conduct statistical analysis on historical and real-time data, and generate trend charts, comparison reports, etc. Third is the early warning function: when it detects that meteorological elements exceed preset thresholds (such as extreme low temperatures, heavy rains, etc.), it will send out early warning information in a timely manner. Fourth is the remote control function: staff can remotely check the operation status of the equipment through the software, and adjust the collection frequency, parameter settings, and other aspects.

The main role of Agricultural Weather Stations is to provide scientific support for agricultural production. By accurately monitoring meteorological and soil environmental data, they help farmers reasonably arrange agricultural activities such as sowing, irrigation, fertilization, and disaster prevention and mitigation. At the same time, they provide reliable data support for agricultural scientific research, agricultural disaster early warning, and agricultural resource management, helping to improve agricultural production efficiency and risk resistance capabilities.
